Ship Carrying New Crane Arrived at Terminal 6 on April 7 at 4 p.m.

Crane photo.

Our fourth post-Panamax crane left Shanghai aboard the Zhenhua 17 on March 8.

ZPMC, a Chinese manufacturer, recently completed construction of our new crane, which was custom built to meet the Port’s specifications and the Columbia River’s bridge clearance requirements. The crane is being shipped fully assembled to Terminal 6.

If you’ve watched previous cranes being delivered to T-6, you will remember that they just barely cleared the Columbia River bridges and power lines. This time, the crane is being built with a folding pylon structure at its apex that will allow the vessel and crane to pass under the bridges and power lines with a little more room to spare.
