News and Resources for Airport Employees
What's New with PDX Next (Week of October 28)

Something to Smile About in November

Starting this month, you’ll see "Terra Cascadia" by Brad Johnson lighting up the video walls in the new PDX. This stunning digital piece captures the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, with sweeping scenes of mountains, forests and rivers spanning two 120-foot video walls.

While we were getting the terminal ready, Brad stopped by to share more about his inspiration. Hear from him firsthand about how this work reflects his deep connection to the region’s changing landscapes.

Construction Impacts to Expect: November 4 - 10

To help you plan for what’s ahead, we’re updating this section weekly. If you'd like to receive these updates right in your inbox, subscribe to the PDX People newsletter.
Gates C4 and D4: In the last PDX Next forum, we learned that the Gate C4 hold room will be completed in late November, expanding the capacity of the airport and providing more boarding bridges. The Gate D4 hold room is also expected to be turned over at the end of November. Additionally, there were changes to the construction area around Gate D4 to facilitate an airplane fit test.

With all these changes, now's the perfect time for a reminder that pedestrians and vehicles should not walk or drive across the alley between Concourses C and D. Pedestrians and vehicles must use marked walkways and roadways only.

Bypass Doors: Today – Monday, Nov. 4 – card readers on the north and south bypass doors will be replaced. Foot traffic through one door at a time will be impacted and employee badges will be checked by security guards.
