Something to Smile about in August

Everyone’s journey is different. At PDX, we offer tools and services to support travelers with mobility, sensory, hearing, and vision needs. From wheelchair access and step-free wayfinding to sensory rooms and visual interpreting, here’s how we’re working to make the airport more accessible.

Want to learn more? Employee training is available and aimed at embracing and uplifting inclusivity. Informational and educational videos and articles are on our PDX employee site.

Construction Impacts to Expect: August 11 - 17

To help you plan for what’s ahead, we’re updating this section weekly. If you'd like to receive these updates right in your inbox, subscribe to the PDX People newsletter.

B/C Pedestrian Bypass: On Wednesday, Aug. 20, Thursday, Aug. 21, and Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., crews will perform crane work above Concourse B. The B/C bypass will be closed during this time and an alternate exit route will be in use. The exit route is open to all, but entry into Concourse B through this route is only open to Alaska/Horizon, Bags, Inc., and emergency responders.

Vehicle Service Road: When you see flaggers on the road, pay attention and follow their signals. Flaggers stop traffic so construction vehicles can safely cross taxiways; ignoring them risks collisions, delays, and aircraft disruptions. Flagging is active most days between Gates D5 and E8, but locations vary, so use extra caution along the D and E concourses.
